Lent course

About

For our lent course this year we are using the 2016 film Silence, based on Shusaku Endo’s novel. It tells the story of the Christian mission to Japan between the 1630-40s. In the course we will watch 20 minutes of the film which will be followed by an opportunity to discuss and reflect in groups. It will encourage us to ask how we hear Gods voice, how we respond when God seems silent and to engage with a powerful portrayal of martyrdom and how others have had to suffer for the faith. 
The sessions will be on every Monday evening through March, 7:30-9:00pm. Each week will be paired with a temptation that Christ encountered as he spent 40 days in the wilderness, fasting and praying.
